Tottenham must return Gareth Bale to Premier League champions
Former Tottenham Hotspur player and coach Tim Sherwood has asked the Londoners to bring Gareth Bale home from Real Madrid. According to him, the Wales striker guarantees Tottenham can be Premier League champions.
Bale left Tottenham for the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2013. The 28-year-old winger was brought in at 101 million euros (about Rp 1.590 trillion), making him the most expensive player in the world at the time.
Quoted from talkSPORT, Sherwood hope Tottenham hook back Bale though with huge funds. According to him, it is better to spend big money for one great player than the three players are mediocre.
“All Tottenham fans will love to get back Gareth Bale, do not get three players with 50 million pounds but go and buy one special player because the player will give the gift club,” he said.
“If they are lucky to get out of injury and get Gareth Bale, they will win the league this season.”
The statement is to respond to Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans to bring in 3 to 4 players before the transfer window closes. So far, Tottenham have not been involved in buying players activity after releasing Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
But Sherwood’s wish seems difficult to realize if you see the last statement of the stronghold of Real Madrid. President Florentino Perez insists that Bale will not be sold in the near future.
Perez gave confirmation to ward off rumors of Manchester United’s interest. Ahead of the European Super Cup match on August 8, manager Jose Mourinho claimed to be ready to compete with other clubs to get the signature of the left-handed player.
