Manchester United Discuss Extension Contract England Defender

Manchester United (MU) began discussing the extension of Phil Jones’s contract. MU management wants to offer England defender a new contract.

Jones had struggled to fight the starting eleven MU this season. Appearance 25-year-old player was previously up and down so that the impact on the trust of coach Jose Mourinho.

Slowly, Jones began to show charts uphill and became the main choice in the MU defense. The Red Devils conceded only two goals in eight Premier League matches this season.

As reported by ESPN FC, Jones’s contract will end with United in June 2019. Although still remaining more than 12 months away, Mourinho felt the need of Jones’s role in the future.

Former Blackburn Rovers player Jones is also called into the England national team by coach Gareth Southgate. Until now, Jones has collected 23 caps with The Three Lions.

The discussion of MU and Jones contracts is still in its infancy. However, both sides are believed to have no obstacles in reaching an agreement.
